▼ Historical notes
From the initiative of Mr. Sergio Cammilli ( Poltronova’s founder), that want to use the big cylindrical industrial tin cans in steel sheet destined to be food containers, born the ashtray, the lamp and the flower vase decorated by Archizoom with polychrome veins of precious stones like onyx, that creates pop comics figures. (excerpt from: Roberto Gargiani, Archizoom Associati 1966-1974, Mondadori Electa, Milano 2007)
The production of these objects was made a single time in 1968 and in those days they were been in catalogue for short time.
The remaining of that production was been recovered in 2005 in a storehouse that was keep closed and not used for about 40 years.
Tin cans found:
Tizio > n°85
Caio > n°78
Sempronio > n°75
Seeing the extraordinary peculiarity of the event, in agreement with Archizoom group, we have decided to finish them with the missing top element, and number them.
The silkscreened tin cans comes from the unique production stock realized in 1968. The availability is limited and the objects are accompanied by numbering and certificate (signature of Centro Studi Poltronova and Archizoom Associati).
